Registered Massage Therapy

Massage therapy is the manipulation of the soft tissues of the body, performed for the purpose of restoring those tissues to a healthy state, free from pain and dysfunction.  Massage combines kneading, pressure, and percussion of the muscles with active and passive movement of the joints to relieve tension and restore balance and posture. Registered Massage Therapists in Ontario practice Swedish massage, developed in the 19th century and based on Western concepts of anatomy and physiology.  Massage is well-known to safely treat many common conditions and soft-tissue injuries.

Athletic Therapy

Athletic therapists adhere to the Sports Medicine Model of care. They treat a wide range of patients, from kids with concussions to seniors recovering from hip replacement surgery, using various manual therapies, modalities, exercise prescription and even bracing and taping. The treatment varies but the objective doesn’t: an Athletic Therapist’s goal is to help clients return to their usual activities, whether that means playing competitive sports or walking to the mailbox and back.

Registered Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a unique therapeutic method involving the insertion of extremely thin steel acupuncture needles into acupoints along the meridians to prevent and treat a variety of ailments. Treatment may also include hands-on (Tuina) or tool-assisted (Gua Sha) soft-tissue release. Acupuncture is a safe and effective therapy for many ailments and is one of the oldest natural healing therapies, having been practiced for thousands of years since its development in China. The effectiveness of acupuncture has been recognized by the World Health Organization of the United Nations (WHO) with the identification of over 40 medical conditions that can be successfully treated with acupuncture.

Restorative Yoga including Hot Stones placed on the body during your session to soothe tight muscles and warm the soul. Your private class includes therapeutic and revitalizing poses with props to gently support the body in restful positions, tailored to your goals. The use of heated, super smooth basalt stones offer relaxing warm to stiff, aching muscles, allowing for deeper relaxation.
