More About Our Physiotherapists
Jake Head
Physiotherapist
Physiotherapist Jake Head has dedicated half his life to studying human movement, starting out with an undergrad degree in Kinesiology from Western before completing his Masters of Physiotherapy at the University of Queensland, Australia in 2008. Jake has over 12 years of clinical experience and hasn’t lost his passion for learning. He’s completed Level 1 SMFA (Functional Movement Screening) and NKT (Neurokinetic Therapy).
Jake is an avid athlete whose high-level sports experience led him into his career, but his experience and beliefs extend past traditional sports medicine to include a holistic, biopsychosocial model of care. He knows that emphasizing communication, listening skills, empathy, and acceptance are critical to empowering his patients to adopt a positive outlook for their recovery, and ensuring that their individual treatment goals are met.
Sherif Darrag
Physiotherapist, Fascial Stretch Therapist
Sherif is an energetic physiotherapy resident with a lifetime passion for health and fitness, having spent many years playing competitive sports growing up. His passion led him to achieve an MSc in Exercise Science from Concordia (2017) and a subsequent career as a personal trainer and Fascial Stretch Therapist, with a strong focus on corrective exercise and manual therapy. His years of experience helping people recover from injuries, improve mobility, and optimize their performance inspired Sherif to pursue his MSc in Physiotherapy from Glasgow Caledonian University (2021), during which time he worked as a pitch-side first responder with Hamilton Accies FC in the Scottish Premier League. Sherif will receive his Functional Range Release: Upper Limb certification in Feb 2022. When he’s not learning new techniques, Sherif enjoys working out, playing soccer, and cooking.
