How does acupuncture work?

A key component of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), acupuncture is performed using disposable, stainless steel needles that are used to stimulate the body's 14 major meridians, or energy-carrying channels, to prevent or treat illnesses by correcting imbalances.

Can I see an Acupuncturist if I don't want needles?

Absolutely! Acupuncture is a robust holistic practice that involves much more than just needling! Registered TCM acupuncturists use manual soft tissue treatments, such as Tuina massage, acupressure, and compressions as well as tool-assisted release using cupping and gua sha (scraping) therapy. Acupuncture sessions can also include singing bowls (vibrational stimulation), topical applications, herbal remedies.
