What is acupuncture?
Acupuncture is a unique therapeutic method involving the insertion of extremely thin steel acupuncture needles into specific points on the skin. Acupuncture is a safe and effective therapy for many ailments and is one of the oldest natural healing therapies, having been practiced for thousands of years since its development in China.
Treatment with the use of needles is optional. Acupuncture treatment may include acupressure, tuina massage or tool-assisted gua sha soft-tissue release, moxibustion, herbal and dietary supplements, and cupping.

How does acupuncture work?
A key component of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), acupuncture is performed using disposable, stainless steel needles that are used to stimulate the body's 14 major meridians, or energy-carrying channels, to prevent or treat illnesses by correcting imbalances.
Are our acupuncturists registered members with the CTCMPAO?
Acupuncture is a regulated health profession governed by the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario (CTCMPAO). Anatomica hires only registered acupuncturists who are in good standing with the CTCMPAO.
